ABOUT ME
THANKS FOR VISITING!
Hi. My name is Christy Osterhout and I am the founder of Cornerstone Pediatric Speech Therapy. I provide one on one therapy within my home-based clinic and encourage parents/caregivers to be a part of the experience. I love empowering them with the skills they need to develop their child’s speech and language. Giving kids the tools they need to meet their speech and language goals is such an amazing experience and I’m thankful to be a part of it.
I received my Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Idaho State University in 2009. I also hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as a Speech-Language Pathology License in Idaho.
Born and raised in Idaho, I love spending time in the great outdoors with my husband and three daughters. We just can’t get enough of the beautiful Idaho mountains and lakes. I also enjoy gardening and finding new recipes to try.

TESTIMONIALS
MELISSA
Miss Christy is the best! She is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. She has an amazing ability to connect with kids and help them meet their speech goals. My little guy spent two years doing speech with Miss Christy and going was always a highlight of his week. She always made speech lots of fun. My daughter has been going for just a few months and has already made tremendous progress. I highly recommend Cornerstone Pediatric Speech Therapy.
KELLY
My son has been seeing Christy at Cornerstone for a year and a half, and I cannot say enough good things! When we started we were anxious and nervous about what was to come. Christy was so kind and thorough, including us in the process every step of the way. Being first time parents, she gave us many tools, resources and knowledge to help our child excel both at home and in the office. My son enjoyed every session, as she kept things fun and at his own pace. Her years of experience shine through, and I would absolutely recommend Cornerstone to anyone in need!
BRITT
Our 4 year old son has been attending therapy with Christy for almost two years and the improvements we have seen are amazing! She is so kind, resourceful, and always looking for fun ways to engage with him. He is always excited to go see Miss Christy for sessions. She is great at communicating with us and including us in his progress. I cannot put into words how much we appreciate her and how much she has helped our son! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
FAQ
How do you know if your child should see a speech language pathologist?
If you are concerned with your child’s ability to produce certain speech sounds, limited vocabulary, difficulty understanding language or expressing themselves effectively give me a call. We can discuss your specific concerns and determine if an evaluation is appropriate.
What age groups do you work with?
I provide services for children ages 2 years to 11 years of age. If your child is outside of these age ranges, I would be happy to provide you with resources on agencies that may meet your needs.
Where do I start?
Give me a call at 208-319-4360. We can discuss your concerns, what to expect, and what the process looks like. Even if you haven’t discussed your concerns with your child’s primary care provider, I can help you get that ball rolling.
How much time is therapy going to take?
Sessions are typically 30 minutes. Frequency of sessions depends on availability as well as your child’s individual needs. Most kids come 1-2 times per week. Many parents want to know how long it will take before their child is done with therapy. This is a very hard question to answer due to the fact there are so many factors that play into it. Factors impacting duration of therapy include but are not limited to severity of speech and/or language disorders, cooccurring diagnoses, family/caregiver involvement, attendance, and more.
How much will it cost?
Although I am in network with some insurance agencies, private pay discounts are also offered. Call and discuss your specific situation with me.
My child already receives therapy at school so why do they need private therapy?
Getting kids appropriate intervention early on is critical to their success. Private therapy at Cornerstone Pediatric Speech Therapy is one on one so your child will have my undivided attention. Additionally, parent involvement is encouraged to facilitate carryover of skills outside of the clinic setting as well empower parents with tools to help their child meet their goals quicker.
Can I bring other kids with me?
Therapy time with your child is important and I want to be able to give them 100% of my attention, but I also want them to give me their attention. When siblings/friends are in the room, they can distract from what needs to be addressed during the session. I ask that you make arrangements for your other children or wait outside the therapy room with them.
